Sandbox and Lower Tenant Passwords and Access

Overview

Users that cannot access the Workday Sandbox (SBX) or other testing tenants should have a campus Workday Support team member submit a security ticket on their behalf using the form below.  The steps below do NOT reset a campus user's Single Sign-On/Network password.  Campus Single Sign-On credentials are the only way users can login to Workday production, and that password is not changed or controlled by MD Connect support.  If a user needs to reset their campus single-sign-on/network password to gain access to Workday production, they should contact their campus IT help desks and follow campus procedures.

A MD Connect Support team member will provide a temporary password to the SBX (or lower tenant), and the user will need to to follow instructions below:

Sandbox Password Reset Steps

Follow these instructions to set a password in Sandbox.  You will also need to set this in the Production tenant in order to continue to access Sandbox after weekly refreshes (Production is copied to Sandbox every Friday evening):

  1. Log into the Sandbox instance with the temporary credentials that MD Connect sent you.  The Sandbox URL is: https://impl.workday.com/wday/authgwy/marylandconnect/login.htmld - note, the username is typically a full campus email address.  University of Baltimore employees should use their IDXXXXXX@ubalt.edu account as the username for SBX access.
  2. Upon login to SBX, you will be required to enter a new password.  Enter a new password that you will remember for accessing the Sandbox (or lower) tenant
  3. Log into Workday Production using your normal campus Single Sign-on (SSO)/network password (not the temporary password sent to you): https://www.myworkday.com/wday/authgwy/marylandconnect/login.htmld
    • MD Connect cannot set or change Workday Production Single-Sign-On passwords.  These steps do not change your campus Single-Sign-On/network password.  Your Single-Sign-On password is controlled by your campus identity management system.  If you cannot access Workday production, contact your campus account support team or help desk.
  4. Click the person icon in the top right corner

  6. Enter the temporary password sent to you by MD Connect Support as "Current Password"
  7. Set a local password you wish to use to access Sandbox in the "New Password" field.  The password set here will only be used to access Sandbox moving forward.  This gets copied into Sandbox each Friday evening during the weekly refresh.  Setting this password does NOT change your campus Single Sign-On SSO/Network password.  Continue using your existing SSO/network password to access Workday production:

  8. When Sandbox is refreshed every Friday from a copy of production it copies this local password you set in production.  After 90 days, you may be prompted in Sandbox to change the password.  If this occurs, repeat steps 2-7.
