Where Should I Start?

The Workday Basics Training Pathway program provides guidance on basic operation and use of the Workday system. It also provides instructions on many commonly performed tasks and actions, including:

  • Entering, editing, and submitting your worked time during a given pay period
  • Requesting time off -- whether for a couple of days, a couple of weeks, or for longer-term absences
  • Using the Workday Search bar to navigate throughout the system, as well as some tips for getting the most out of the search feature
  • Viewing tasks, reports, and actions for specific areas of focus via apps and dashboards

Note: The Workday Basics 101 Computer-Based Training (CBT) course -- which is included as the first entry in the Workday Basics Training Pathway program -- is a required prerequisite for all other courses in Workday Learning.

To learn more or to enroll, visit the Workday Basics Training Pathway program page.

Note: Members of the Faculty are advised to review the Faculty Training Pathway program page.

What Other Courses Should I Take?

Once you understand the basics, the next step is to learn how to use Workday to perform and fulfill functions specific to your role with your institution.

The Role-Based Training Guide -- located on the Training Pathways By Role page -- provides guidance on which Training Pathways are recommended for employees with your assigned Security Roles. If you don't know your assigned roles, don't worry: The Training Guide also provides guidance on how to look up your assigned roles in Workday.
